The plan for the 2022 organisation’s activities

The business plan is adopted by the 2022 annual meeting held on 2021-03-20. The Board is tasked with operating RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen's operations during the year in accordance with the business plan.

RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen is a non-profit organisation that works to ensure that homosexuals, bisexuals, transgender, queer and intersex people have the same rights, opportunities and obligations as everyone else, and to create safe spaces for LGBTQI people in the county.

RFSL rests on democratic foundations and is religiously and politically independent. RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen’s operations are based on association statutes. It ensures the safety and security of the members and the organisation.

The plan for the 2022 organisation’s activities is presented in this document, and will – due to the current world situation with pandemic and risk of infection – be somewhat less detailed and general than the previous year’s plans. The business plan is based on the areas of focus the 2021 board wants to send with the new board for 2022.

Educational operation
Social activities
Operations stability
Political work

In addition to a development of the above presented focus areas, this plan also contains goals for managing the association’s finances and for how the financial year is followed up.

EDUCATIONAL OPERATIONS

RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen’s vision is that knowledge and awareness of LGBTQI issues should be available at all levels in the social apparatus within Jämtland’s County. We see that there is a great demand from schools around the county, mainly from the students.

Examples of focus points in the area:

  • The organisation will work to find good working methods to enable more educational opportunities for schools in the county. Today, the demand is greater than what the organisation can provide. This is because there is not enough time for those who are voluntarily involved in the organisation.
  • The organisation will offer and invest in marketing LGBTQI-oriented education and information to actors around the county, both in the educational sector and to municipalities, the region and various companies.
  • The organisation’s board and active members must be offered RFSL’s internal training in both the organisation activities and LGBTQI knowledge.
  • The organisation will work to make interesting lecturers and / or educators within LGBTQI available to the region’s residents – both through their own events and collaborations with other organisers.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen’s vision is that homosexuals, bisexuals, trans, queer and intersex people should feel important, welcome and included in the region and that the region’s LGBTQI people should be able to find a community with like-minded people through the organisation’s activities.

Examples of focus points in the area:

  • The organisation and its platforms will function as a meeting place for members and others who share RFSL’s values.
  • The organisation shall organise membership activities that are relevant to the members.
  • The organisation shall work to facilitate and encourage third party actors to organise LGBTQI-friendly events and shall help to market these in their channels.
  • The organisation’s goal is to organise activities in different places in the county.
  • The organisation shall make available as much of its activities as possible in digital form, communicate regularly with the members via member mail and keep its social media and website relevant and up to date.

OPERATIONS STABILITY

RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen’s goal is to be a stable and viable association and a reliable partner for other actors both within and outside the region.

Examples of focus points in the area:

  • The organisation must ensure that the work environment and atmosphere within the organisation is always unpretentious, friendly, easy-going and welcoming, and that active people and members are sensitive to each other’s needs.
  • The organisation must actively recruit and then take good care of and work to be able to retain active and committed members.
  • The organisation must work actively to be able to maintain, develop and make the organisation premises available to as many people as possible.
  • The organisation will work to build, nurture and maintain local and regional networks and collaborations.
  • The organisation must respond to and follow up emails and direct messages as soon as possible – even if it is just a message that we will return.

POLITICAL WORK

RFSL Jämtland Härjedalen’s goal is to, to the extent possible, conduct political lobbying for LGBTQI issues in the Jämtland Härjdedalen region and to always try to raise and highlight LGBTQI issues in political contexts.

Examples of focus points in the area:

  • The organisation will collaborate in the SRHR project and contribute with LGBTQI perspectives in the issues discussed there.
  • The organisation shall encourage and encourage the various municipalities in the region to work with and shed light on LGBTQI issues within their municipality.
  • The organisation will collaborate with youth clinics, libraries, leisure-centres and other places where young people stay.

ECONOMY

The organisation must be open to different ways of financing existing and possible new activities. This includes, among other things, actively looking for and applying for grants, scholarships and sponsors for the business, offering school information and workplace training and recruiting more members to the organisation. Furthermore, the organisation must maintain a responsible and long-term economy, always have good awareness and transparency about the organisation’s financial situation and always act in good time in the face of any financial challenges.

FOLLOW-UP

The organisation’s board must continuously evaluate and follow up the activities through, among other things, board meetings and member contact, to promote development and improvement. The Board’s decisions made from the previous meeting must always be followed up at the next meeting to ensure efficient operations. The board shall also keep a continuous log and document events and activities, both for evaluation of the membership benefit and to facilitate the compilation of the annual report prior to the annual meeting.
