About RFSL

RFSL, the National Association for the Rights of Homosexuals, Bisexuals, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Persons, is a non-profit organization founded in 1950. RFSL’s goal is that LGBTQI people get the same equal rights as everyone else in society.

RFSL works locally, nationally and internationally and is a growing organization with approximately 7,000 members and 38 departments spread across Sweden.

At departmental level, RFSL is a social meeting place, where members can participate in various activities, such as lectures, pride café evenings, pride parades/events and workshops.

The Congress is RFSL’s highest decision making body. It consists of representatives from all the union’s departments and the youth union.

A federal board is elected at RFSL’s congress and has the task of implementing the business plan that the congress makes.
